Feedback From Room 101(FR101).
Feedback from Room 101 explores the uneasy intersection of signal-based analog video feedback and code-based generative AI. Born from raw experiments during my SLFMAE residency, the work reconfigures visual technology spanning over 20 years, into a colorful but disconcerting storm of feedback, shifting eyes and faces. Drawing its title from George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, the project reflects on the fear of technological supremacy and the anxieties of AI’s rapid growth, while revealing new possibilities for media art. The work was first presented at the Lights On The Exchange Festival in Winnipeg in 2025.
